چکیده
Duvernay shale is a world class deposit with total resource of 440 billion barrels oil equivalent in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). The volatile recovery factors achieved from primary production are much lower than those gas-condensate window, typically 5–10% original place (OOIP). previous study has indicated that huff-n-puff gas injection one most promising enhanced (EOR) methods reservoirs. In this paper, we built comprehensive numerical compositional model combination embedded discrete fracture (EDFM) method to evaluate geological and engineering controls on Multiple scenarios simulations for proposed twelve parameters have been conducted effects reservoir, completion depletion development evaluated. We concluded conductivity, natural density, period depletion, permeability sensitive incremental huff-n-puff. Low conductivity short could significantly increase usage ratio result poor economical efficiency process. Sensitivity analysis indicates due matrix-surface area during process, fractures associated hydraulic key controlling range over cycle (nearly 2300 days production) reservoir between 0.23 0.87%. Finally, screening criteria potential areas reservoirs shale. This highly meaningful can give valuable reference practical works conducting both other

Integrating Embedded Discrete Fracture and Dual-Porosity, Dual-Permeability Methods to Simulate Fluid Flow in Shale Oil Reservoirs
Abstract: The oil recovery factor from shale oil remains low, about 5 to 7% of the oil in place. How to increase oil recovery from shale oil reservoirs is attracting more and more attention. CO2 huff-and-puff was historically considered one of the best approaches to improve the oil rate. Most previous simulation studies have been based on dual porosity, but simulation results from dual-porosity...
متن کاملAn Experimental Investigation of Feasibility of Gas Huff and Puff for Recovering Crude Oil with Different Viscosities
Investigating multi cyclic gas (N2 and CO2) huff and puff have been conducted by long sandpack simulations with four different crude oils from Jiangsu oilfield. According to the production differential pressure and the production regularity during huff and puff, the production process was divided into three sections; the first one is free gas production section; the second section is low viscou...
متن کامل3d Analysis of Huff and Puff and Injection Tests in Geothermal Reservoirs
Heat extraction from deep, hot rocks for energy production is based on water circulation through a man made fracture or natural fractures. As multiple and non-planar fractures in a stress field affect the geothermal reservoir behavior, so the capability to simulate multiple fractures and joints is needed to help reservoir design and operation. A 3D model is developed in this work to simulate an...
متن کاملProduction Optimization in Shale Gas Reservoirs
Natural gas from organic rich shales has become an important part of the supply of natural gas in the United States. Modern drilling and stimulation techniques have increased the potential and profitability of shale gas reserves that earlier were regarded as unprofitable resources of natural gas. The most prominent property of shale gas reservoirs is the low permeability. This is also the reaso...
